Sister took me to see The Family Stone today. Loved loved loved LOVED it. It was a feel-good movie, people. Just watch, laugh, cry, laugh again, and end with a good cry. Don't analyze it, just watch it. I actually felt like I was watching my own family. We can be awful to each other, but if any outsiders ever push the wrong button, we become a united front.
Listen, I don't pretend to be a film snob. I can go to the movies just to have fun; a movie doesn't have to be a Palm D'Or winner or anything like that. I consider The Family Stone to be a funny, sweet, Christmasy movie. If you like any of the actors in it (Diane Keaton, Craig T. Nelson, Rachel McAdams, Sarah Jessica Parker, Luke Wilson, Dermot Mulroney, Claire Danes) then you'll be happy. Pajiba's review tickled me, actually. I wasn't as picky as they were, but we ended up feeling pretty much the same way about the movie. Enjoy!
