I'm taking a moment here to wander down memory lane...we all have songs that remind us of specific times, places, people...it's the "people" part of that sentence that I'm focusing on right now...
I'm sitting in my office with the music cranked up (mainly to keep me awake), and I'm listening to U2. Okay, you're thinking, great band...yes yes very great band, one of the best (in my opinion of course)...so what's the problem? "All I Want Is You" is the problem...ohhhhh why do I listen to that damn song?
We all have at least one of those songs, don't we? Oh, don't look confused, you know exactly what I'm talking about...yeah, that song...
You know, I don't think it matters how much time has passed, or how much you've moved on, it's amazing how one little song can just dig its way down into your gut and just twist...
Upon reflection, however, I have to admit that I rather like having this feeling...makes you feel alive...besides, you can get warm fuzzies all over again just thinking about the good times. Oh, stop shaking your head, you know there were good times. In my case I will reference Longfellow's poem: "When [it] was good, [it] was very, very good, But when [it] was bad [it] was horrid".
Hmmmm yeah. horrid is the word...but wow, when it was good....*sigh*
Dammit!! Nothing good comes from depriving myself of sleep!!!
God, I love that song. One of U2's most underrated songs. If you ever get the chance to check out the video, it's every bit as good as the song is.

Ooooh I've never seen the video...just the thing to throw me into a lovely muck of self-pity and gooey romanticism...
It's a Kodak moment!

I know exactly how you feel, and I agree, I would not trade that feeling in - it DOES make you feel alive. It's nice to remember.
