What is a Fuzzball?

  • One question I hear more than any other is What's a Fuzzball??" Allow me to explain:

A Fuzzball is a 30-year-old fallen debutante who lives in Houston, TX with a bossy dog and an even bossier parrot who she SWEARS is the reincarnation of Napoleon Bonaparte.

A Fuzzball prefers animals to most people, because people can really suck sometimes.

A Fuzzball loves music, ALL music ALL of the time. If she's not listening to it, then she's singing it.

A Fuzzball has a mad love for all things British, especially their actors.

A Fuzzball is blissfully happy in a bookstore, preferably one with good music playing in the background. If you look under a Fuzzball's bed you'll usually find an entire library of books that she has dropped there after falling asleep reading.

Fuzzballs are usually incurable romantics, ridiculously optimistic, and bent on making the world a happier place.

Your typical Fuzzball will probably have a completely bizarre sense of humor. Just go with it, it will take you to funny places.

You should also be aware that Fuzzballs are giant nerds. Seriously. Science fiction, computers, the whole shebang.

Fuzzballs are also budding photographers. They love looking at the world through a lens and finding new ways to be creative.

Oh...and you can also look for a Fuzzball in one of the best movies ever made. ;)

Mom

Jack Dog! I keep waiting for you to rush the door when the mailman comes. I miss your morning circles around the dining room table with your toy in your mouth. I miss you chasing Lucy around the back yard when she has a puppy fit. I miss throwing the frisbie for you until I am exhausted and you are still ready to go. I miss your tender kisses on my face with the love shining in your eyes. I miss you going between my legs in the morning so I could scratch your rear end. I miss your loud barks when Dad would get out your leash for a walk and no matter how many times he told you to be quiet, you just barked louder! I miss "little talk" and "big talk". I miss your soft ears that you so loved to be caressed. I miss cleaning your big feet when it rained and you always went into the flower beds! I miss you being so scared of rain, the sprinkler system and thunder and nearly breaking down the back door to get in. I miss your smiles and your so intelligent eyes. I hear you in my mind everytime I open the door. I will never have another day in this house that I don't picture you in it. You are our best friend and our guardian and you loved us with all your being. You tried so hard to stay here with us and we will be forever grateful to Dr. Birney for giving us some extra time with you. You were so loved and you will forever be in our hearts.

some guy

one time jack bit my ear in half because i was hiding underneath dad's sheets. who else has a dog that is so fondly remembered but didnt take any shit from anyone?

T.Tommy

Thank you Jack Dawg for presenting me with some slobber covered, God awful stinky toy first thing in the morning as I was doing my morning stretches. Thanks for then sitting on top of me, wagging that little tail, waiting for me to throw whatever that slobber-covered, God awful stinky "toy" was! I'll miss you forever Jack Dawg, you were the best.

Tracy

*laughing* I had totally forgotten about Price getting his ear chomped...ahahahahaha

Ceale

Thank you, Jack, for bestowing the honor of "girlfriend" upon me. Thank you for giving me all your love and attention when I was around which usually meant you sitting completely on top of me. Thank you for liking Chris immediately, because if you hadn't I would not have been allowed to marry him.

Nothing drew the Manford family together like the late, great Jack Dawg. Although our time with you was cut short, no one left your presence without a greater appreciaton for dogs and a smile. You truly were the greatest dog ever.

Bob

Jack, thank you for the crotch sniffing and the face licking, usually in that order. You touched me in ways, figuratively and literally, that very few others have. Seriously, though, you were a great friend in a house full of great friends--family--and we will all miss you. One word of caution: you might want to be a little more gentle when you sniff God's crotch. He's a bit stronger than I.

Shawn

Jack, well all miss you. Your persistence should be lauded. A combination of allergies and stubbornness may have led you to believe you hadn't won me over, but you won a corner of my heart. Nonetheless, someone had to keep you on your toes [after all, you had all the Manfords wrapped around your paw from day one.]

Suzie

Thank you Jack (and EVERYONE else here!) for making me cry like a baby tonight. I also laughed though, between the tears and snot bubbles, so thank you.

There are so many of these items listed that I could say of my own "little" guy that it touched me so much.

Jack sounds like an all around incredible, and WELL LOVED dog!
