What is a Fuzzball?

  • One question I hear more than any other is What's a Fuzzball??" Allow me to explain:

A Fuzzball is a 30-year-old fallen debutante who lives in Houston, TX with a bossy dog and an even bossier parrot who she SWEARS is the reincarnation of Napoleon Bonaparte.

A Fuzzball prefers animals to most people, because people can really suck sometimes.

A Fuzzball loves music, ALL music ALL of the time. If she's not listening to it, then she's singing it.

A Fuzzball has a mad love for all things British, especially their actors.

A Fuzzball is blissfully happy in a bookstore, preferably one with good music playing in the background. If you look under a Fuzzball's bed you'll usually find an entire library of books that she has dropped there after falling asleep reading.

Fuzzballs are usually incurable romantics, ridiculously optimistic, and bent on making the world a happier place.

Your typical Fuzzball will probably have a completely bizarre sense of humor. Just go with it, it will take you to funny places.

You should also be aware that Fuzzballs are giant nerds. Seriously. Science fiction, computers, the whole shebang.

Fuzzballs are also budding photographers. They love looking at the world through a lens and finding new ways to be creative.

Oh...and you can also look for a Fuzzball in one of the best movies ever made. ;)

Awesome post. :)

Now that's a good post!! That story still makes me laugh until I cry. I cannot imagine my life without those wonderful years on Bellefontaine. XOXOXOOX

P.S. Correction it was 1999. I graduated in Dec. 1998 and we had only been living together about 6 weeks when your mom got sick.

That is one of the most hilarious stories I have ever read!!!

I hope Monty was squawking loudly in the background as all of this was going on.

You're very good at comedic writing. Most people couldn't pull it off. There's such a fine line between stupid and clever.

Hold your hand above your head!

Actually, Monty didn't make an appearance for a couple of years. He wouldn have been screaming, though, without a doubt.

Thank you! I can't really take much credit, though. It's the story that sells itself. As my dad would say, "you can't make this stuff up."

i once stapled my finger. i was probably less than ten years old though. i got a bunch of fun office supplies to play with, and i was sitting on the pool table (we never used it to actually play pool, but we got some use out of it!) putting new staples in my new stapler. and then i stapled my finger--immediately after my mom had warned me to be careful. she didn't freak out though, and i was so shocked that i don't think i made a sound. she ran upstairs and got a bandaid and pulled that sucker right out. *sigh*

i sat around listening to Rafi for the rest of the day. with my stapler safely deposited in my desk drawer.

I love it when you write dialogue. Your life has a better script than most TV shows. ;-)

That's a great story! My friend stapled her finger in the third grade. I still have a vivid auditory memory (seriously, it's like a recording of the event) that I can replay in my head. Good times indeed.

Of course, I should repeat that we were in the THIRD grade. Not, you know, out of college. :)

Okay, tears are streaming down my face as I hold my sides laughing! The thing is, I can totally see this whole episode as it unfolded! And I am SO sure that Celie's mom was as exasperated as she could be with you two idiots! Good thing your tetanus shots were up to date!! However, glad you didn't get any blood or throw-up on my card -- of course, I still have all of the cards you have made! You need to figure out a way to show all your buddies your thumbprint gang!! Love you!

My mom = adorable. That is all.
