Tonight's season finale of Heroes made me cry so hard I got the hiccups and every time I calm down I think of the ending and start crying all over again.

That's damn good television, folks. Damn good.

Note to self:

You know you're watching too much Law & Order: Criminal Intent when you dream that you're dating Bobby Goren. Not Vincent D'Onofrio, the actor who plays Bobby Goren...you're actually dating the fictional character. Yeah. Too much L&O.

That's not to say it wasn't a good dream, though. Ahem. Moving on.

All I'm saying...

...Is that if Starbuck turns out to be one of the final five Cylon models I'm going to frak somebody up but GOOD. Snarl.

That's all I'm saying.

UPDATE: Okay so after reading some other viewers' comments I'm beginning to think that maybe Laura Roslin is a Cylon. THINK ABOUT IT -- wasn't her cancer cured by Hera's blood? Maybe it was for the same reason that Athena didn't get sick with the whole Cylon-killing-virus...

It's a love/hate relationship...

I don't know how many of you peruse my blog sidebar, but one of the sites listed is TV Squad, a blog about television (duh). Here's what I like about TV Squad: the up-to-date industry news, goofy facts about stars, and links to other websites about television. Now let me explain what I don't like. The site features (paid) bloggers that recap/review television shows. Now, I don't like to be picky, but it seems to me that if you're getting paid to review something you might be held to a higher standard than just some regular joe shmoe picking apart Lost on his livejournal. There are several TV Squad "contributors" (as they're called) who regularly make pretty glaring errors in their reviews of shows. They're always corrected by their readers in the comments, but still. It annoys me. SO I left a comment today expressing my concern about the contributor for Heroes posting misinformation in his review. It wasn't a rude comment, it was just a "by the way" sort of statement. Well, the little whiner EMAILED ME. Here's our exchange:

Comment: I really don't want to be rude, but shouldn't you proof your review before posting it? Or maybe have someone else read it? You're posting misinformation and that's kind of confusing for fans of the show that come here to read about it. Just a thought...

Does anyone else believe that he really thought it was "nice talking to [me]"? Yeah, me neither. I wrote back and asked him not to email me again. A bunch of other readers left comments complaining about the errors in Canfield's reviews. I wonder if he emailed ALL of them. If so, this dude has way too much time on his hands. He also needs a much thicker skin if he's going to make money from blogging. What a goob.

What is worthy of the DVR?

Okay we've been able to get some season premieres out of the way and settle into a fall television groove, so I thought I'd share my own personal selection with you guys. These are the fall shows that I tape. I might watch some others things on the fly here and there, but the following shows have the season pass on my dvr. They shall not be missed!

Sunday Night

Family Guy: I watch the new episodes, I watch the old episodes, I love it I love it I love it I never get tired of it.

Monday Night

Heroes: Love this show. It's sci-fi, fantasy, comic books, action, love, suspense...okay, so that Milo kid drives me frakkin' nuts. I can deal with that! I want to be the cheerleader that is completely invincible. That's incredible. I'm also hooked on the weekly graphic novel that NBC posts on their website.

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip: First of all, drop the "on the Sunset Strip" because it's just retarded. Seriously. Having said that, I absolutely love this show. The comedic chemistry in the cast is amazing. I love Aaron Sorkin's style, I love the way his shows are shot, I just love this show all-around.

Tuesday Night

Bones: It's a show about gigantic nerds and the megahunky former vamps that work with them. What's not to love?

Law & Order: Criminal Intent: This is my favorite of the L&O franchise. Two of my favorite television actors are on this show: Vincent D'Onofrio and Chris Noth. ROWR. I like that this L&O is all about the police. The courtroom drama is left mainly to the original Law & Order, and that's fine with me.

Law & Order: SVU: The banter between Ice-T and Richard Belzer is great. B.D. Wong does a fantastic job as the "sane" one of the group, and Chris Meloni...well, that should go without saying. Connie Neilsen is filling in while Mariska Hartigay gives birth and I think she's bringing a lot to the show. Hahaha did anyone else notice how fast the producers and/or writers gave up on the idea of Nielsen attempting a New York accent? Yeah, by her second episode she was saying "I'm originally from Denmark." Ahahahahaha

South Park: See Family Guy

Wednesday Night

Lost: Are you kidding? It's LOST, people. Best show on television. I'll beat up anybody who dares to disagree! *menacing glare* I pity The Others that fall into Sayid's hands. I pity Michael falling into Hurley's hands. I envy Kate falling into Sawyer's hands. BaZING!

The Nine: Jury's still out on this, since I've only seen one episode, but I've got a good feeling. Tim Daly's jawline has that effect on me. Wahoo!

Nip/Tuck: This show satisfies the naughty in me. It's just wrong on an epic scale, you know? Ahhhhh sinful.

South Park: See Family Guy

Thursday Night

The Office: If I was told that I could only watch three shows a week, this would without a doubt be one of them. There's nothing about this show that I dislike. Nothing!

CSI Las Vegas: Nothing's better than the original. I like the retooling that has been done on the show this season. I think it gives the old model a new twist. They've got me for another season!

Friday Night

Battlestar Galactic: Thanks a lot, Jess. You got me hooked on BSG. For those of you who immediately pooh-pooh this show, I challenge you to watch the recap to seasons one and two. It's 45 minutes out of your life, and if you still hate it, I'll concede. I'll concede that you have no taste, but I'll concede. HA!

The Office, Le Bureau, Stromberg, and...The Office:

Tonight is the season premiere of the American version of The Office. I will be the first to admit that when this show first aired I was TOTALLY against it. No one could supplant David Brent and his painful lack of self-awareness, or Gareth and his jelly-covered stapler, or Tim and his infatuation with Dawn, or Keith and his BOOyakasha. How in the world would the original Office translate into American culture? Well, it wouldn't. To make The Office a success amongst the Yanks, it would have to be re-tooled to mirror the true American office experience.

Liesl Schillinger of Slate explores the differences between the four different versions of The Office in England, America, Germany, and France. Why not just dub the original into French or German?

In France . . . the dubbed version sank like a lead ballon when it aired two years ago. But when a BBC-licensed French remake, Le Bureau, debuted on French television last month . . . critics hailed it as a succès fou.

Okay, so the original doesn't work in other countries. Why not? And why bother overhauling the original anyway?

The American Office sends up the drab pageantry of the American cubicle ghetto—faithfully rendering what Conrad would have called "the peculiar blackness of that experience." Presumably, the British version does the same. The French and Germans, [Schillinger] suspected, wanted the "peculiar blackness" of their own working day similarly assaulted. Knowing what's unbearable about your own country's workplace is . . . a nontransferable birthright.

Ahhh yes I see now. An American's office gripe isn't going to be the same as a Brit's. For instance, how many of you were surprised at the amount of "blatant sexism" in the UK Office? Sexual harassment policies don't really seem to exist in UK offices, if the original Office is to be believed. Whether you like it or not, you won't find near the amount of raunch in the American version. Damn Pilgrim Puritanism! >:)

To conclude, I would like to say that I don't care what language is spoken or what country it's in, I want to work in an office like this one (click the picture to launch the video):

Yet another brief and pointless aside:

Let me be perfectly clear: I adored Wonder Woman as a child. I had the underoos, I wore a towel as a cape, I had wristbands made out of aluminum foil, the whole deal. Hell, if I could get away with it I'd probably still dress like her. But did anyone ever stop to think about how stupid Lynda Carter looked when she was transforming from Diana Prince to Wonder Woman? I mean, spinning around with your arms out? Did that get pulled from the original comic, or was it only on the tv show? Well whatever, I think it's lame. Plus I wasted a lot of time as a child getting dizzy and nauseous from trying to SHAZAM myself into Wonder Woman. Damn you, magic of '70s television!

I promise that I won't turn LIUF into an American Idol forum/fansite, but I just had to say this one thing:

Did all ten remaining girls take SUCKING ASS pills before performing tonight??? I mean, WHAT THE HELL??? They all sounded like drunk sorority girls at a karaoke party. Jesus. Awful. Blech.

UPDATE: Most of the boys redeemed my faith in music, with the painful exceptions of Kevin the Zygote, David the Cracked Crooner, and Jose "I gave myself my own nickname: Sway" Penala. Having said that, I played Elliot's performance back four times, Ace is still hot, and Chris Daughtry needs to drop out of the competition and just sign a recording contract already.

Open letter to Apple:

I absolutely do NOT CARE that you are now offering episodes of Knight Rider on iTunes. I certainly will NOT be purchasing any of the episodes. I scoff at the very idea! However if I do happen to purchase the pilot episode out of some sort of misguided curiousity, you can rest assured that I WON'T be purchasing any more. Well, the pilot happens to be a two-part episode, so I might have to buy two shows...but after that? FORGET IT. I am NOT INTERESTED in Knight Rider. I certainly NEVER watched it while it was originally showed...and then later in syndication...as well as dubbed into French while I was in Paris...where was I going with this? Oh yeah ---

I DO NOT LIKE KNIGHT RIDER, APPLE! Whoever told you otherwise was full of CRAP. It must have been the same person that told you about my love for the A-Team. Lying bastard.
